Experience the unique Isan culture and learn about Thai traditions and the significance of water at the Jim Thompson Farm Tour.

Jim Thompson Farm Tour Activities

1 Cosmos flower field and hydroponic vegetable gardens
Approach the beautiful cosmos fields via the bamboo walkway starting at the entrance to the Jim Thompson farm. This walkway was inspired by Mae Nam Khong, the world’s eighth longest river, located at the centre of Thailand’s Northeast region. After a short stroll, you’ll have the opportunity to select your own mulberries and other fresh organic vegetables at the U-Pick Garden. If this leaves you peckish, you can grab a bite to eat at the food court, serving a wide variety of Thai and Western foods, before continuing to the next stop.

2 Giant pumpkin patch and colorful flower field
Take in the impressive natural surroundings; the rolling hills, reservoir, and the blooming flower field. Learn the history of Mae Nam Khong and the legendary Thai Giant and Red Nosed Hunter. Capture the moment on camera and take a memorable photo at the top with 360° views of the field and pumpkin patch.

3 The Isan Village
A highlight of this year’s tour has to be the water castle, visitors will be able to make out the silhouette of a palace, whose walls are built solely from water fountains. Next to this magnificent structure will be the floating water garden, with a variety of plants being displayed on top of shallow water. Visitors will also be able to peruse a range of Thai contemporary art from a variety of talented Thai artists. While in this section, enjoy the examples of Isan architecture and experience demonstrations and activities related to their traditional, rural way of life. On top of this, sample some Northeastern food and enjoy viewing a wide selection of traditional ceremonies and native dances.

4 The Jim Village
Have fun in the multicoloured fish tunnel, created from beautiful Jim Thompson fabrics, which will lead you to the Jim Village. Here you can learn the famous and unique silk production processes and also try out the fascinating techniques for yourselves.

5 The Jim Market
You will find the last water reference at the Jim Market, where you can relax to the sound of flowing water, which runs along a traditional bamboo track that decoratively surrounds the marketplace. Choose from a wide selection of organic hydroponic vegetables from our field and shop the variety of other top-quality fresh produce grown on site. You can also purchase souvenirs to remember the fantastic time you had at the Jim Thompson Farm.
